Net calories question! Please help me!

Hey guys! I have a fitbit synced with MFP.. So I have MFP set to sedentary and I have 1200 to start the day. Fitbit syncs and automatically keeps me at 500 cals under what I burn so I will be at a 3500 calorie def. at the end of the week... Ok, so today, I have eaten 1600 cals, and burned 2500 throughout my day... So it is telling me to eat more. Is this really necessary? Or is 1600 ok? Does this make any sense? THANK YOU SO MUCH

If you burn off the calories you've eaten you can eat what you burned and still have a deficit

Right... but according to all of this, my net calories today are 800. So I guess my question is if that is okay? Because I've actually eaten 1600 but burned 800 in activity. And there is no way I can eat more today.

You are not the only one I read that burns 800 even 1000 calories in a workout. Curious what you are doing? I work my but off and still only burn 400-600calories. Love to get some ideas.

Its not all generally in one activity of workout. I bought the Zumba exhilarate DVD set and an hour of doing a Zumba DVD is anywhere from 500-800 calorie burn. Today I did a 30 minute zumba DVD and half hour of elliptical. My total burn for this was 880 calories. I would COMPLETELY recommend getting a fitbit! I have the ZIP (50$). Its amazing, really lit a fire under my bum!

Running for two hours or more does it for me - burning around 1500 calories. Generally it doesn't matter what you do but rather how long you do it for!

On my long run days there is no way I can eat back my calories - there's just too many. Instead I just listen to my body and eat to feel satisfied. It also means that if I go over my allocation on days I don't exercise I don't stress about it.

    Hi
I am currently doing the C25K (couch 2 to 5k), using the free app and I can easily burn 350 plus cals doing that for 25 minutes which is all treadmill work. Then I will do a brisk walk on the treadmill with an incline of 5 (5.5kph for speed). That will burn more cals off pretty quickly.

Also use a pedometer to track how much I walk during the day. I know its not 100 percent but gives a good idea and you know if you have walked long distances that its not too far off.

Some days when I have the time I can hit the 1000 burn in the gym but takes a while as I do slow down when my body tells me that its not liking the running at 10kph..so its back to a brisk walk.

    Good luck....
