Thanks for all the jello shot ideas! Will definitely have to try some of them tomorrow! woohoo!!!
so so so very scared to weigh in tomorrow. :ohwell:
I normally don't jump around in zumba cause I have bad knees, but I decided to try to push myself tonight. I was able to do a couple songs with an extra bounce but that was enough. Burned a little over 700 cals0 -
bump :bigsmile:0
-
Bump. I am having trouble sleeping tonight but I figure it's good practice for tomorrow - we have to leave at 5:45 to get the race in time.0

Today's weigh-in: 193.4 (-5.0 from last week)
Yes, I weighed myself like 5 times to make sure, and yes, I had gained 0.8 last week b/c of TOM, and hadn't really lost anything this challenge. Umm.. body was making up for it this week? *shrug* Yeah, definitely not expecting a loss next week now. Holy crapballs. I mean I know I was good this week with my eating and exercise, and last night I didn't quite hit my calorie goal (first time in a while that's happened), but this seems really low. Not that I'm complaining persay. I just can't believe it. Then again, yesterday, the scale was giving me 195, so perhaps possible? :noway:0 -
Flips and twirls for you Kristina!!! WOWSA!!!
I am reporting in at 188.75 which is up 3/4 of a pound from last week. Considering my week, I will take it. I seemed to be back on track yesterday - whew (wipes sweat from brow)... I managed to jog 2 miles and did 35 min workout with mom.
Jenna is doing better again today. She is perkier and moving fairly well - only stumbles once in awhile and can now jump up to the food counter. She fatigues quickly and is sleeping more. I keep holding my breath that it will last. She was given shots last Thurs and perked up and got to come home Mon and then went down hill. If she is still doing well next Tues, I will be happy.
Good luck everyone!!! I've had one client cancel so I should be home earlier today - YEAH. It looks like my schedule is back under control for next week (unless the phone rings off the hook with referrals today)... Catch you later.0 -
Victoria- up .75 pounds is nothing- that'll melt off over the week! Plus, I can't even recall the last week where you didn't lose weight, so you're an absolute superstar in my book! Congrats on getting back on track- that's always the big thing. We all stumble for various reasons, but the important part is we don't make it an excuse to give up and hey, it's just a day or two and you're back on the wagon! I'm so glad to hear that Jenna is doing better- keep us updated! Also, in case I forget to mention later, good luck on your race tomorrow! I'm super excited for you and can't wait to hear how you do!! *hugs*
So, my boss said to stop by her office before 11am today for our meeting (which she missed earlier in the week), so I went by first thing this morning before I was going to head to the clinic, and she wasn't in yet. ARGH. I mean my town isn't that big, but it's on the clear other side, and I don't like having to drive around back and forth all the time for meetings that don't end up happening! So, as I don't know when she'll get in, I'm sitting here at Sweetwaters Tea & Coffee (skim sugar free vanilla latte in a big mug next to me... yumm!!), working on some stuff remotely and then will try again to see if she's in in a bit. I didn't want to go too far away from her office, and this will ease me into the day, which should have been pretty easy, other than the fact that I have my group, and a make-up session for 2 people who missed out on the group last week, but I've got to catch up on all the stuff I missed yesterday with my computer fiasco! /vent
I still don't know how that weight drop happened. I mean, I have been consistently losing this week, but it's still a shock, and I tend not to believe it until it sticks for a few days. I'll probably slurge today and get a super yummy salad and hunk of cornbread from the store right by the clinic. Looking forward to that!! I plan to (brought my clothes with me as always!) go to the rec center after work, as in order to hit my 5/7 workouts a week, I'll need to hit it up at least either today or tomorrow, as next Thursday is a group night, and I know that I won't be up for working out after that. And I sort of want to take a weekend day off. The weather is supposed to be crappy- it's cramping my running style! I'm pretty tired, but would like to elliptical it up today, and I'll crash early this evening and relax tomorrow. Sounds good to me.0 -
My official weigh in for the week......201.5, I think that is down two pounds from last week. I'll take it.
Kristina.....Holy hell!!!! 5 pounds, that is great! don't question it, just bask in the glory of slimness!!
Victoria....3/4 pounds isn't that much. knowing you, you'll burn it off sneezing! your a machine. Glad your kitty is doing better.
hope everyone elses week went well, we are off to a good start so far.
going to my brother in laws this weekend, so I'll be offline....miss you all, and wish i had more time to spend on here...someday0 -
I'm gonna weigh in tomorrow or Sunday.....let the sodium fall off a little more. My March for Babies walk is tomorrow morning. It might rain but I'll go grab an $.88 poncho from the camping section of Walmart and I'll pack Lexi's raincoat. (hehehe, yes, I have a raincoat for my dog and she wears it) I got a great tip from a photography book to use a shower cap to protect my camera from the rain and it works surprisingly well (I have a Nikon D60). Another girl from work is thinking about bringing her little 5lb dog to the walk too lol.
We've also started fundraising for our next charity walk. We're going to do an American Heart Association walk on May 22nd. I'm co-captain for our team so I'm in charge of collecting money for a raffle we're doing now. We'll also be opening a mini candy/snack store for our department and I'll be in charge of that money too. I'm not sure how long that walk will be....also not sure how long the Susan G Komen walk is next week- I need to get in touch with my friend since I'm doing it with her company.0 -

Kristina...Woo, Hoo!!! 5 pounds is fantastic!!!! You rock! I really am happy for you and I'm glad your body is working for you!:flowerforyou: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I think I have found where that 5 pounds has went...straight on over to me..... I will vent a short time here and then move on:sad:    ....I don't know what the frick is wrong with my body ......
3 weeks ago, 2 # gain, 2 weeks ago 1 # gain....today 3# gain...I weighed in at 210 this morning????? I have been working my a** off, this week I biked out doors, 28 miles...Sunday I ran 5 1/2 miles, I did three days of hour long weight training, I walked a couple of days and even did a day of Yoga for 90 minutes....I ate most of my calories back, staying on average around 1800 a day....I am sore, in my legs especially so I suppose I could be retaining some water...I also am on my period so I suppose I could be holding a pound or so from that......but come on....I just feel so down today...staying the same is so much easier to handle than the gain....and I also have been eating lots of raw fruits and veggies...the only treats I had this week were, I sqaure of dark chocolate, some low salt corn chips (and they were measured) and I did have a no-bake cookie another night, but for goodness sake, it was made with oatmeal, reduced sugar and the chia seed for the fat in the recipe and always within my calories for the day, well except for last night I think that cookie put me over by 49 calories....still nothing huge......
I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and I am suppose to do kick boxing, but I just feel so defeated today that I am going outdoors and putter around the yard....I'll see how I feel later....I am going to have to change my ticker here soon, 3 weeks of gaining in a row:explode: :explode: :explode:
Pinbot, I had not realized that you decided on a race....good for you,:flowerforyou: is it a 5K? I can't wait to hear how you do.....Go get em Girl!!!!:drinker: :drinker:
Remember, the excitment of the other runners will make you want to start out quicker than you normally do...try as hard as you can to pace yourself so you can really bring it at the end!!! Good luck!!0 -
dude....why is the board cutting us off after the first several lines??? I had to split my last post into 2!0
-
Kendal- I haven't had any problems with updating and MFP cutting me off. Weird. Good luck at your walk tomorrow morning. Take a picture of Lexi in her raincoat- I bet she looks adorable!
Deb- I'm frustrated for you!! Argh!! It sounds like you're doing everything just right, so that's incredibly frustrating to not the see the results that you absolutely deserve. It looks like you're eating well. You getting enough water every day- I drink 8 at the minimum- sometimes it can help with bloating, but that's the only thing I can think of. I'm so sorry sweetie. Stick with it. Even if you're not losing at the moment, think of the fact that you are working your *kitten* off, putting the right things into your body and getting hella fit! So, while the ultimate result of weight loss isn't here at the moment, you are doing great things for your body and hopefully it will thank you with a weight loss soon, cause that is just unfair to someone doing as awesomely as you are.0 -
Deb - maybe because your increased your workouts your body is holding on to everything you put into it right now because its a big change? I am sure that if you stick to it and keep it up within a week or two it willd rop right off plus some. That happened to me too. I'd like it to happen again since I am up and at a stale mate right now too. In part of my own doing.0
-
Great job Carolyn!!! We miss you too.
Deb - my heart goes out to you. Have you heard back from the free trainer yet? What do you use to calculate your exercise calories burned? You work out so much more than me and your daily activity level seems so much higher with your farm chores and house cleaning. You may want to invest in a good HRM that includes settable VO2Max in calculating calories burned (these are the expensive polar monitors) or in the Body Bugg which gives a more accurate total calories burned. It has been long enough for you in this up/down situation and you seem so frustrated that you deserve this. If I had your husbands number I would call him and demand he get it for you for Mother's Day!!!! :flowerforyou: My gut tell me that you are seriously underestimating your daily calorie expenditure and thus under eating even at 1800.
I have another friend Questfor250 that got a body bug and then could not believe the calories that he burned in 24 hour. He posted on the topic and finally gave in after paying for a trainer consult and started eating at that super high level and he started to lose. If I remember correctly, he was burning 3500+ cal a day with how active he was - now he is also quite a bit bigger than us (over 300 pounds.) Here is quote from his notes "Trainer said I need to eat more. OMG. I am at 2210. They say go to 2500 calories and they say I will lose weight. Exercise and get to eat up to 3000 calories. Unreal. So my diary is being updated today. I'll let you know if it works." Several weeks later he posted it was working.
You may want to consult a local personal trainer if the free visit you won isn't panning out. ((((((((super BIG hug)))))))))))
So I plugged in what you did for on on Wed - 14 miles of biking at 12-14 mph x 1 hour and at my weight (188 pounds) and got 682 cal for MFP calculation and yoga for 45 min and got 162 cal plus my normal 1400 and if I was doing what your doing, I should eat 2200+ and that is with sedentary lifestyle and 1 pound weight loss goal.
With summer coming, I just changed my daily activity level from sedentary to lightly active. I tend to do more yard work and don't want to have to calculate every last thing. This has bumped my daily cal goal from 1400 to 1550. That being said, I am off to get some gardening clothes on and off to rescue more flowers - my beds are still covered with leaves.0 -
I bought a Polar F6 for $100 on Drugstore.com and LOVE that thing!
I would have liked to get a Bodybugg but they are like $200+ and I am under the impression that you have to pay to use their online program to download everything to.
If I am really booking it and my heart rate is up in the high range (151+) I can burn 10 cals per minute. IF that helps give you an idea of what you are doing when you work out anyways. I'm with Pinbot, I bet you are underestimating.0 -
im weighing in at 203.4
hubby and i are trying together.. sorta.. hes lost 25lbs to my 19lb but they seem to lose it faster.. plus the past couple weeks have been sorta bad for me.. i hurt my back.. the same place .. so i dont know if its a sprang.. i had an xray done and they said it looked fine.. i thought maybe a slip disc or something.. idk.. but every few months it hurts like a SOB anti imflamiroty meds dont help nor muscle relaxers... anyway ive been taking it easy i guess at the gym so maybe it goes away...

WTG Bethany!!! You are just melting away. Before you know it, you will be under 200!!! Have seen a specialist for your back or had PT? Often times exercises can help realign things. Core strength exercises will help longer term to prevent recurrences of pain episodes. Good luck. Back pain is never fun.0

Pinbot, I believe you are right about my eating.....you can view my diary with the code 6677...I looked over it earlier today and I thought the same thing....when I look at it going back a month...my net calories aren't very high on average. I do have that cheapy HRM, and I do estimate...with it and what MFP says and I usually always go with the lower number....I don't know why I can't back off a little or eat more...it's like I am addicted and I think I have to work out hard at the very least an hour....here lately though, heck I do 2 hours and then maybe even more with the kids in the evening.
I promise, I will buy myself a GOOD heart rate monitor so I will know for sure and then maybe I will feel more comfortable eating a bit more....this has been going on way to long and today started out really ugly....(I think the hormones from my period had something to do with that!)
The trainer guy has not got back with me yet , that had me down a little...when I emailed him all my paper work, something happened that it didn't transfer and he didn't realize it until a week later, so when he noticed I had to re-send everything and he told me it could take a couple more weeks...that was last Wednesday....that was also the day I decided to pick things back up again on my own, dusted off the bike and made myself some tanning sessions.
Thanks guys for listening....I ended up having a much better afternoon once I got outside and did yard work and started getting things around to open the pool and such...one of those days I guess I just needed a good cry, look things over and re-group!
Thanks guys!!0 -

Hey Girls. Didn't make it to the gym and haven't eaten well at all. I will hit it up in the morning and weigh. It won't be pretty. Sigh...gotta hammer down the next two weeks.0
-
Good Morning Super Pals, we'll be on the road most of the day today...taking our son to a kids health fair and then there is baseball practices....I probably will not have time to check back in until later tonight. Also taking my daughter shopping this weekend and I'll be looking for a HRM....if I can't find one, I'm heading to amazon!
Happy Saturday everyone!!0 -
240.5!!! I'm down half a pound! I had a horrible past 3 days in eating, but managed to not gain!! Even with TOM here!0

Pinbot- I can't wait to hear how your race was this morning!!
Got up early today (way earlier than normal for my weekend) and hit up the grocery store to load up for the week (lots of fruits and veggies!) and target to pick up a couple pairs of exercise pants. Success! Plan to veg the rest of the day. MIGHT exercise, but I gave myself today off if I wanted.0 -
My race was great!!! I ran the whole time. At the 3 mile mark, I was averaging 12 min 20 sec a mile. I don't know my exact time but learn it soon. The clock was in the 38 min range when I crossed the line. The weather was high 40s and sunny - perfect. The track was pretty flat compared to my normal practice course - I think that's why I ran quicker. We now have a 2 hour ride home.
Jenna was still doing well when I left this morning okay it was really the middle of the night.0 -
did my 3.5 mile charity walk today for the March of Dimes. man my feet hurt! Lexi is plum pooped out. me too0
-
Great job Kendal!!!!
Kristina - my friends do not want to race with us in 3 weeks. I signed up on-line today for the Chelsea race. I am so excited to meet you and to get to run again. It looks like you can pick up registration on Friday night from 4-7 or Sat morning from 7-8. The race starts at 9:30am... I may go for the morning pick-up... Does anyone else live near or want to travel to Ann Arbor and to run with us??? Here is a link to the race http://www.runmichigan.com/calendar/event_detail1.php?recordID=32860 -
Way to go Kendal and Victoria for getting your walks/runs on this morning!
Victoria- great timing! How was the race overall for you? Did you take it out quicker than you normally would? That happened with me because mine was such a small one and everyone was so fast, I didn't want to completely be left in the dust.
I just signed up for the 5K in Chelsea. Yay!! I would probably be more inclined to check in early Saturday morning then head over there Friday night, though it's only like 20 min away, so maybe. I'm SO excited to meet you and run a race together. Any other superheroes want to take a trip to Michigan? haha.
Lazy day, which I'm fine with. I might submit and get some pad thai this evening, which will definitely put me over calories, even though I've ate well today, but without exercise calories to factor in, it won't be pretty, but I haven't had it in a while, so I don't feel TOO guilty.0 -
All my superheroes must be out and about- i had to go back 3 pages to find the thread!
Girls, I need to take my own advice. Were we not just talking about this last week- that how now that we've been eating better for so long that when we do splurge we feel like a** the next day? Totally guilty of this. Why didn't I listen to myself? I decided last night to get pad thai, cause I haven't had it in a while, and was craving it. This in itself wouldn't be horrible, if I had eaten only half the container- would have only been a wee bit over calories as I didn't work out yesterday. But no- ate whole container, plus spring rolls, plus 2 glasses of wine, PLUS a pretty decent slice of chocolate cake.
OMG girls. I am in a food hangover this morning. I seriously feel like I drank like whoa- body is exhausted. I cannot be doing this to myself. Even as I was doing it last night I was thinking, yeah, this'll suck- but still did it. Argh. I'm pissed at myself. I'm definitely still not at the stage where I can treat myself moderately- it's gotta be a complete downward spiral of a meal. Definitely something to work on.
So, even though I feel like crap this morning, well afternoon really, as in addition to feeling crappy, I slept 12 hours (whoa), I need to get a good workout in to maybe counteract at least a bit of yesterday. Elliptical it is.0 -
Morning girls.
Had a good day yesterday, went into town with the fam, I exchanged some stuff at Macys and then we went for sushi. Gracie ate a whole plate of tempura vegetables and got upset when I took a mushroom, lol. This is something to be proud of I think...that she loves vegetables so much. Makes me feel like I am doing something right. She even ate some of the tuna (slightly cooked) in my salad too.
This morning I made steel cut oats with a fresh chopped apple, golden raisins, honey and cinnamon in my rice cooker. OMG so good!! I did miss my smoothie though, I have to say. I might have it for lunch.
Kristina, I know exactly what you mean in regards to food. I ate a whole large take out box of pad thai last week by myself. I feel clogged up, like I have alot of things that are sitting in my body that need to get the eff out! I think the beer has something to do with it to. I've had a craving for it lately and have divulged. And then I wonder why I am up 4 lbs. Yeah..duh!
Starting tomorrow for the week I am going to try to limit carb intake to fruits and vegetables...replacing them with healthy fats and proteins...a la primal diet. I've got a blackbean corn salad that I am making for lunch and here in a minute I am going to look up kale chips recipe so I can put the salad on top of the kale chips for my lunch...trick myself into thinking I'm eating something carby. I need to cleanse I think...this is a good way to start. I've also got celery and cucumber to juice with some apple so hop that helps too.0
