people are saying im looking smaller but im gaining weight! i have been doing better on carbs but not entirely. ive been eating about 160-180 carbs with exercising. i have been doing a machine called a cardio glide where you extend your arms and lift your body up towards you. i have noticed my arms went from 14" to 13 1/4"

How much do you weigh now? Have you been on a calorie deficit at all? How often are you working out? Did you get your body fat measured anytime in the last 6 months?
  • If you're doing it regularly, it may be that you're adding muscle mass. From what I've gathered, you usually drop fat mass from the areas people generally see (think thighs, face, stomach) and add muscle mass to the areas you're working on.
  • since you are losing inches in your measurements I would assume you are gaining muscle right now, which is definitely not a bad thing! Try changing up your cardio routine a little, maybe use a treadmill and walk on an incline if you don't enjoy running or walk around your house for a while each day. Running is the best form of cardio for weight loss but i know a lot of people don't like it. Just change up your routine a little and you should get back to losing weight. You have obviously had huge success in the past, this is just a bump in the road.
  • On a related note to rachellefitz, you may have plateaued (sp?) in your workouts, time to switch them up a bit.
  • Don't worry about what the scale says! As long as your measurements are decreasing you know for a fact that you're losing fat. I'm sure you are gaining muscle in the process. Keep it up!
