MFP & calories in 1 pound?

Interesting phenonmenon here with my weight & MFP: if I add just 96 calories, my expected weight goes up by 0.9 pounds, or 14.4 ounces.
This is important to note to me, as I was not over my allotted MFP assigned calories, even after adding the 96 calories. In fact I was still under by 1000 calories.
I thought one pound was 3500 calories?
What is going on? Thanks.

If you are talking about the end of day, five week projection?
Then its 96 k/cals x 7 days x 5 weeks =3360/3500 = 0.960
