I went out this weekend with some friends and ate out. I chose healthy resturant choices and stayed under my calorie goals. I never went over on Fat or carbs. Only sodium, but only about 800 mg Friday and Saturday. Both days I ate healthy breakfast (oatmeal, whole wheat cereals, yogurt, banana)

I ate clean all Sunday and drank plenty of water. So why come Monday did the scale say I gained a pound? Will going over a little over on sodium Friday and Saturday really make me gain a pound?

Plus on Saturday I did a lot of walking so I was still exercising!

I just don't know what could have made me gain.

My doctor told me once that weight loss is a reduction in weight over time. The reason he said this is because there are normal fluctuations. So even if you are up a pound today, this is one weigh in at a random point in time that may have been affected by your food choices or your extra walking.

My advice: don't sweat it and check in again in a week. I weigh in on Mondays, and I enter my weight in a spreadsheet that then plots it on a chart. So even though I gained twice since my weight loss journey started again this time, I am down overall. Your weight will fluctuate and it's normal.
