Tuck it in, Leave it out?

Okay so this is kind of an embarrassing question. I had my daughter when I was 17 and after I delivered I gained more and more weight. Before then I always wore my pants at my hips and then my Mom told me that it wasn't a good look and to wear them up to my belly button (think mom jeans). Which I have been doing until I bought my first pair of size 17's in the junior department.(first time in 4 1/2 years YAY) They are at my hips and button/zip fine. BUT I have this fat fanny pack thing and I really feel uncomfortable without it locked behind some jeans. The problem I'm having is the jeans in the women size 16 don't fit in my legs if they are high rise because they automatically seem to think if you have a fat gut you have fat legs
So the juniors fit my legs perfect but are low rise. I just can't stand having baggy leg pants. SO my question is. For those of you who know what I'm talking about (the excess skin/fat pouch) How long before if ever were you comfortable with not locking it up. OR do you have any suggestions on a brand of jeans that work for you? (I'm still osing weight so I don't want to pay a heap just yet)
Thanks in advanced :flowerforyou:

I just want to say, first, that I am so proud of you, my friend! It is nice to have these sort of problems instead of the alternative.
I know exactly what you are talking about when you say the fat fanny pack, but I am a true pear shape with bigger thighs too, but not for long. I'm still locking it up with some mid rise jeans, I buy my jeans at either Torrid or Maurices. In another couple of months, this will be a problem of the past.0 -
I get my jeans at Old Navy. The Sweetheart style. They are high enough to keep in the nonsense but low enough to still look nice.0

For cheap intermediate jeans, I buy Old Navy jeans, (they are cheap usually) they are a mid rise so they don't go up to the belly button but don't sit low enough for any belly flab to hang over. They also have a variety of shapes so that if you are bigger at the waist, you can still find some with thinner legs. The belly isn't really much of a problem for me now but I still have loose skin (with a bit of flab to it) that can do some funny things in low rise pants.0

Control top panties
I have the same issue (mine's finally shrinking though!!)
I don't wear my pants to my belly button. I find tops that fit me and flatter the belly-hang (who knew it was possible!!)
Keep on keeping on though, eventually you'll look back and smile at this post because you won't have to worry about it!0 -
You could always were a tank and tuck that in and leave your shirt untucked if the bulge is bothering you.0

Mid-rise jeans are life-savers. I have had a lot of good luck with Lee jeans, actually, mostly the Slender Secrets ones. I have a few Old Navy Sweethearts, but apparently my *kitten* meat is a little too much to be contained by them (size 12 falls down, size 10 = busted can of biscuits). *sigh*0
