peroneal tendonitis - Good ankle braces?

I'm looking for a good ankle support that I can wear in my hiking boots to help support my ankle. I suspect this tendon is the one that keeps acting up and I've found many braces that stop rollover but don't know how comfortable they really are so I'm hoping some here have tested certain braces. Basically, I've seen air and gel ones...some that wrap around the ankle and others that are part gel and pre-inflated. Anyone? Anyone?

I'm hoping for some advice before spending a fortune.

Bump. I posted it earlier but I think everyone was out. I'm trying to find a brace I can wear for sports and hiking so that I protect my foot from getting worse.

Have you tried taping it? It's not as uncomfortable in a shoe as a brace and can be easily modified.

I have used a different type of kinesiotape (Kinesiotex Gold)--you can just use whatever is available where you live.

I've tried taping in the past but it gets super expensive after a while. I was hoping for something that would keep my foot more rigid and help me avoid pronating as much. I know my sister has one that she uses for a similar issue (suspect it's a family problem) but there are so many new ones. I'm actually going to stop at a medical supply store later today to see what they carry.
