Calorie goal while lifting

I'm going to begin the starting strength plan today and am debating what to set my calorie goal at. What calorie surplus should I aim for each day to balance progression while minimizing excessive fat gain?
I'm planning on MWF lift schedule, and T,Th,Sa cardio (HIIT, not long and slow). Do you eat differently based on your workouts? Eat less on your day off? Decisions, decisions!

Start at maintenance on lifting days and -20% on rest-days... if your goal is to lose fat. If you find strength stall, increase lifting day calories...0
