Polar FT1?

I have been using a FitBit1 for about a month, but I've hearing about the HRMs. My local target had the Polar FT1 on clearance ($30 instead of $60).

I bought one, but I haven't opened it. Come back here to read reviews, but most are of the other models. Is this a good starter HRM? I can't really afford to spend another $100 right now. Am I better off just using what I have?

Sounds like it only gives your heart rate so I can't see it being much benefit. You'd need to track all of it and find an online calculator to give an estimation of calorie burn. I'd take it back and wait for an FT4 to be on sale.

I don't know anything about the FT1, but I have the FT4 and love it!

I didn't read through them all, but it appears that you can't change your own battery with the FT1. You have to send it back to Polar.

Like several others, I have the FT4 and am quite pleased.
