Today has been a very bad day and my stress levels are growing as I type this! I have come a long way and even handled some tough times without falling off my horse. I feel like I have been bombarded by unfortunate events lately and my coping skills are just not cutting it. I am desperately fighting with myself today to keep from running to the store to soothe the stress with sweets. Logically I know it wont do any good!
What do you do when times are really rough? Will the urge to emotionally binge ever go away or will I battle that for life? Any advice is appreciated.

I am on a downer today. Had Muay Thai last night and it annoys me how I am always finding fault with myself and this then makes me feel so down. trying so hard not to run downstairs and get a can of coke.
ugh.
I had some problems with some of the combos last night (kept getting my jabs & crosses mixed up) and then we had shin guards on to do some contact kicks, supposed to be gently as we are a starter class, but the girl I was with ended landing a couple of painful kicks to my thigh and it has gotten to me for some reason. I am fairly new to this and when things go wrong I take it very personally and feel so useless. makes me wanna buy all the potato chips and consume.0 -
Cardio blows off stress better than anything you can put in your mouth. I'm assuming that you've already done the "phone a friend" option.
Also, a massage or a pedicure, or a hot bath with epsom salts and a book can make me feel better.
If I'm at the point where nothing but French Onion dip will do, I'll portion out a large serving of chips and make up for it over the week. Can't do that more than every couple of months though.0 -
Unfortunately I also suffer from this. I would also be curious to see if anyone has any insight.0

bumping to keep this up
what do you do when things feel like they are getting too much or how to you stop beating yourself up so much and being so negative towards yourself??
I am so tempted to get a bottle of wine after work and have a glass0 -
I was able to get over the frenzy i was feeling yesterday by meditating. Once i got calmed down i was able to really process what i was feeling and regain control. Ultimately i decided i am in charge not my emotions and that seemed to seal it. Thanks for the input. Today is a better day.0
