I wanted people to see this part and my post might be too long so I copied it to the top: So this might benefit me in another way because I could use a "chubby buddy." We might not be able to exercise together but we can swap recipes, chat, whatever...a chubby buddy pen pal. Females only...I'm happily almost married:laugh:

Hello...my name is Marica and I'm sure my story isn't much different from anyone else struggling to lose weight. I stumbled over this site yesterday looking for diet tips and here I am determined to stick with this forum. I'm 27, 5' 4", and allowed myself to reach 230lbs before I decided I better do something about the weight gain, which seemed to come 5-10lbs a month. Anyway, I've never been little, when I was in high school I was about 175lbs, I thought that was a lot but I'd love to be that now. I went on Atkins when I was about 20 or 21 because I had gotten to be about 220, and I lost a lot of weight. I got down to about 160 and I was loving that weight and keeping it off for a while but Atkins wasn't really practical for me,...being a college student, mother of two it was a lot easier to cook something "out of a box" basically. Plus I wasn't eating very healthy...still losing weight, but at what cost? Now, I'm trying to eat healthier, decrease sugar and bad carb intake....eat more fresh foods, fruits and veggies...you know the drill. I think this site will help me alot. I need to incorporate more exercise into my plan. I walk to work and some days that all the exercise I get, it might be a half a mile from my home. I have lots of exercise videos...the only one that I can really do is the Walk Away the Pounds...only because I might be the most uncoordinated person you'll ever meet and the other tapes make you feel like you would have to be a trained dancer to follow. I want to get to the gym but...another embarassing story...I don't drive. So I'm trying to get people to take me or go with me rather and it's not working out right now. I tried to get them to diet with me too, a no go. So this might benefit me in another way because I could use a "chubby buddy." We might not be able to exercise together but we can swap recipes, chat, whatever...a chubby buddy pen pal. Females only...I'm happily almost married:laugh:

    Hi Marcia,

I would love to be one of your chubby buddies. I joined this site a few month ago but never stuck to it. The first time I did the site I never added any friends just did my calorie counting.
This time I joined a few groups on here where you do weigh ins and challenges. I do see a diffrence now. I am more motivated and working a lot harder.
    Good luck!

This is incredible! I'm familiar with computers but I've never done anything like this...I've only been on the computer about a half hour and already I'm communicating. I'm not familiar with myspace and facebook and all that...I'm trying to figure out now how to put my picture up on the site. Anyway, I could really use the "group" effort. I'd love to join some groups...and how does everyone get the weight charts on their post? Right now I'm trying to get recipes together off the internet for protien smoothies...do you have any ideas? Looking forward to "working it out" with you

    Marica

    Hey Caymarks,

That would be great! But I would expect the same favor in return...I can get side-tracked easily myself. Are you trying to lose a lot of weight? I would like to lose at least 60lbs but 80 would be wonderful. Either way...We can do it!

    Hey Caymarks....

Congradulations on your baby...is this your first. How old is the baby? I have 2, but they aren't babies anymore....a boy 11, and a girl 7. I have two stepdaughters also, they are 12 and 7. They can be a handful and when you're trying to take care of everything including them you stop focusing on yourself and stop make you a priority.....but I'm here to help in any way I can....There a blessing, not a burden, but we do have to think about ourselves everyone in a while.

    Have a good day!

I am wanting to lose 30 lbs. The only problem is that I plan on getting pregnant within the next couple months. I would like to lose 10-15 lbs before baby.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm trying to get in a little better shape before having my first baby. Hence the "pre-baby" weight. I think it will be better for both me and the baby if I lose some weight pre-pregnancy.

I would love to be your "chubby buddy" too. I am new to the site as well, and looking for a support group and accountability. We can do this! :-)

Oh ok...I understand. I was pregnant with my third in 2007, I lost him at about 4 months. Then we asked the doctor about trying again and he said that it might be wise if I lost weight, for more than just getting pregnant, but that was also included. The sad part about it is that I was about 185lbs then and I'm almost 40lbs more than that now. So you have the right idea definitely. I hope everything works out well for you.

    Hi

my name is Ida and got this site from a blog on a walk at home program. I also belong to a another site where I log everything also. I figure I would give this one a try also. I have Thyroid problems and also had Breast cancer , heart problems and blood pressure problems. I want to get back down to 125 and I know it is going to be a struggle.

I hope this site will be able to help.
