Might not get my house afterall :(

Last spring my husband and I found a house that we really wanted...yada yada the financing fell through at the last minute and we didn't get the house. Then our landlord of our apartment building sold it and the new landlord basically kicked us out when I was 8 months pregnant. I packed up the whole apartment pretty much by myself and we moved in with my mom. It has been great lving here and all but we want our own place. We found one that we wanted so badly and we got the financing and everything. All of a sudden the lender is having second thoughts or something and our closing is scheduled for march 31st! I was so excited about moving to this new place. It's a really nice neighborhood and a big 3 bedroom house. We planned on building a rec room in the finished off basement. I am a wreck...I don't want to live with my mom forever! I have my own baby now and she needs her own room. It's so cramped here with all the baby's stuff and our stuff is all packed up in the garage except for necessary things. I want my stuff back, and I want to be able to sleep with my husband without worrying about my mother hearing us. I just hate that I got my hopes up so high and now it's looking like we're not getting this house either. I feel depressed, I just want to get drunk, but I can't because I have to take care of taylor. My birthday is tomorrow and I just want to crawl in bed and cry....yes I am feeling sorry for myself. I can't help it. Thanks for listening guys.

Sorry things are not going your way. The lending market is a bit crazy right now b/c of the mortgage crisis and lenders are not throwing money out like they were a couple years ago. Just be sure you are using a reputable lender and not someone who will take advantage of you...which is what is causing this mortgage crisis right now. Good luck.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I feel so bad for you. I know you're having a rough time right now but I'm sure things will work out for the best in the end. You're fortunate to have your mom there for you. I hope you try to do something special for your birthday. Good luck to you. :flowerforyou:

i'm sorry you're going through this. is it a VA loan by any chance? i know they're a bit more finicky about their loans, but as was already mentioned...lenders in general are wary due to the mortgage crisis. so long as you don't take out an arm loan. we took out a fixed loan for our first house that we sold in january and plan to do the same with our next home (we're a little frustrated about people who didn't, but that's another gripe altogether). we're all living with my parents while we look for another house. it's frustrating i know. you love your parents, but...they're still your parents, ha ha. good luck!

What a total bummer! I'm so sorry! Just be grateful you had your Mom to move in with! I know it's no fun not to have your own place. We had the opposite problem a few years ago. My husband's sickly mother had to move in with us suddenly when his brother's wife basically kicked her out. I didn't realize how much I valued my privacy! She was finally able to move into an assisted living place after almost 2 years. That was a great day for everybody! :happy:

Just be patient and it'll happen for you. I know it's hard!

I understand completely!! I'm living with my mom right now too. We've recently moved back from living in another state so until our house sells we are stuck. I have a two year old who needs her own room also. I feel your pain:sad: :sad: But there is light at the end of tunnel. Hang in there. Things happen for a reason. You may still get that house if not this one then it wasn't meant to be. Try to keep positve and try to enjoy your b-day:flowerforyou:

I know this is going to sound corny, but there is a reason for everything. You might not see it right now, but you are going to look back one day and say " now this is the reason we didn't get the house"

Or better yet you will close on the house next week and all will be will in your world!:flowerforyou:

It will work out. I went threw the same thing 4 years ago. My problem was all the houses we liked went into bidding wars. We waited and it ended up working out fine. We have since sold the house we bought due to the apt that went in around the area. We are now renting and looking at buying again. Prices are falling and so are the interest rates. Be patient and if it is meant to be, it will happen.
Be careful with some of the lenders. Get a fixed loan and no prepayment penalties. Check with your bank about a loan. If you are approved you are approved unless something happens to your credit before closing or if some items could not be verified.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I know that you're all right about "things happening for a reason", but it's hard to think of it that way at the moment. I guess we're going to find out tomorrow morning what is going to happen, so wish me luck! It could still work out, I hate not knowing. I'll let u know how it goes and thanks again everyone.
