Feeling horrible about my body

Before entering college I lost over 50 pounds and 2 years later in I gained most of it back. I have been under so much stress and I emotionally eat my stress. Today I got on the scale and I started crying. I just need some sort of help or emotional help or something. I don't get that. I was raised in a house with a mother who never taught me how to eat right.

help is out there! If you have insurance, call the customer service # on your card and ask for a case manager to work with re your needs. also, your insurance company might also have a mental/behavioral health department and often someone is availabe to speak with 24/7 for crisis situations and there is the possibility of ongoing support.
Be sure to access as much as you can in your community. You can also call local hospitals, libraries etc to see if there are any freeby seminars. Otherwise you could benefit greatly from a visit with a dietician.
Best to you! Glad you joined!0 -
Been there. But here is the thing, you can use your horrible feelings as a catalyst for change. Hitting bottom, enough is enough, how ever you want to look at it. I had to reach that state before I was ready face what was necessary to fix it. (By the way, my worst feelings came when the guy I was dating called me fat, yeah, *kitten*, but he was right).
So two weeks later from my low point I'm just starting to notice changes. I'm not sedentary any more, I've cleaned up my eating, and best off all I'm feeling emotionally and spiritually a whole lot better. Funny how a healthy diet and sun shine will do that.
So get rid of all the crap in your kitchen, go buy healthy food. No blaming mom here. We are all smart enough to know if it is processed and individually wrapped, probably not healthy. If it is whole, and easily identifiable it is probably better for you. Play with combinations, and start logging your food, you will figure out what not only tastes good, but calorie and nutrient counts as well. (You can always read up, but I honestly believe our bodies intuitively know what is good for them if we are paying attention).
Like me, you have an advantage. We have done this before, we have list the weight. We know without a doubt we are capable of doing it!0 -
I've been there too.
The suggestion to call your insurance is a good one. They should be able to connect you with a couselor to help sort out your thoughts and maybe a nutritionist to set up a plan of action.
No matter what, don't lose hope!0
