Can excercise make you too sleepy?

I've been at this for about 8 weeks. And more days than not I'm getting some excercise in which by all accounts is good. And it has made me sleep better. But lately waking up has been so hard! A month ago I could get up at 5:30 am get a mile or two walk in and get ready and go to work- but the last couple of weeks getting up before seven is really, really hard. Like I'm sleeping through the 5:30 alarm going off and snoozing the 6:30 alarm. I need to leave my house around 7:15 to be at work on time. I'm not sure if it's the time change or if I were doing to much and now I'm paying for it? I usually go to bed around 11:00 pm and usually fall to sleep pretty quick.

Did anyone else have this problem when they got started?

I've been having the same problem. I chalked it up to the time change, school and work. But maybe the exercise does have something to do with it.

The time change's a killer for sure!! One trick that occasionally works for me (not one to make a habit of, though!) is to have a juice box by my bed. When the alarm goes off the first time, have a few sips of juice. That sugar wakes me up and so I don't snooze anymore.

I wonder if you're just sleeping better and so you're wanting a quality normal night's sleep rather than not sleeping well and getting up just because you're not sleeping well? Does that make sense?

When I have nights that I'm not sleeping well I tend to just get up and start my day just because I know I'm not getting quality sleep - my back hurts, my knees ache, etc. and I just end up tossing and turning. But when I'm sleeping well, it seems like my body wants the full 7-8 hours. And I know that since I've lost weight my quailty of sleep is a lot better.

I do think it's that I'm almost sleeping too good! Like I'm finally good tired and getting some good rest and that alarm wants to take it away from me!

it's time to punish your body for sleeping so well. tonight stay up till 2am and force yourself up at 5:30. This will absolutely send a message to your body to start getting up on time. (as a parent, I believe in tough love..lol)

exercise def has to do with it so go to bed earlier. i get up at 445am every morning and i'm zonked out by 930pm. if i go to bed later, it's incredibly hard to get up!

Put our alarm on the other side of the room so you have to get up to turn it off...my bed is currently lofted (thanks dorm living) and my alarm is under my bed....under my desk so when it goes off i have to get out of bed crawl under my desk and shut it off. This works because once your out of bed and moving i'm usually awake....unless its a day where my body is like nope you need 14 hours of sleep.
