How Should you Feel feel Workout?

It sounds strange but I'm wonder how you are supposed to feel after exercise. I'm totally new to exercise. I tried it about 20 years ago and I felt nauseous after each workout.
Now, I just feel sweaty. Admittedly, I'm just doing some treadmill, push-ups and light free weights right now but I feel fine afterwords. Does this mean I'm not doing enough?
Cheers

I usually feel exhilarated and quite good directly following a workout. A tired feeling in my muscles sets in a few hours later...
If you are just doing the same thing every workout, then your body has likely adapted and it has gotten easy. You need to provide different stresses to the body to continue to see adaptations.0 -

This. I usually have a good high going after a workout. I usually come home and use that excess high to get some cleaning done or work on some other project I have been neglecting. My husapband will tell your feel really talkative toto after a workout. Blah, blah, blah:laugh:0 -
Nausea once in a while after a very hard work out might be OK. But I'd imagine if it happens after even a moderate workout, or every time, you might want to consider talking to your Doctor. Likewise with dizziness, fainting, light headedness. Expected once in a while, but get checked out if it happens regularly. It might be that you ate too soon before working out (I can't eat for at least an hour before running, for example), or didn't eat enough, and your blood sugar has gone hypoglycemic. But get checked out anyway!
If you are new to exercise, I'd say "feeling fine" is OK. You don't need to go all out at first. Let your body get used to the change in routine, and the new demands you are placing on it. Try to do a bit more every time.
But, if you are pushing it, then being exhausted and out of breath is normal! As is an endorphin high, and a huge feeling of accomplishment. Expect muscle soreness the next day (or two) as well as your body adjusts again.0 -
Thanks for all the great info.
I think it may be that I do need to change it up/step it up. I'm getting the energy burst after working out but I'm not getting the next day sore mussels. Maybe I'l scale back the cardo from 1hr to 30 and do an extra 30 of strength.
I can't afford a gym membership, so I use the treadmill twice a day for 30 min. and 20 min x 2 of push-up, resistance bands and light free weights.
My Dr. said the nausea would go away in time. That was 20 years ago and I stopped exercising then because of the nausea but so far, so good.
Cheers all and Thanks
