New fitbit user and im confused

Ok I just got this thing yesterday and I am learning how to use it. I am confused on whether or not I should log my workouts on here or just let the fitbit add them. As of now all I am doing is running, walking, elliptical and the occasional aerobic workout. I have seen so many different answers for this question. So do I log those activities???

I've heard the fitbit gets really confused by ellipticals, so you need to log those yourself onto MFP. This may be true for the aerobic workouts.

The fitbit can definitely do the logging for the running & walking - that's what it's designed to track/monitor. :)

I use my Mr. Fibit zip to track my walking and make sure I don't revert back to a tree & my sloth-like nature.
The only other purposeful exercise I get is strength training & I've heard that nothing tracks that accurately. As in neither a fitbit or hrm, so most folks track manually on mfp.

I prefer not to track my strength training :drinker:

in my experience fitbit is only good for running/walking/steps.. it didn't accurately calculate calories burned when i was doing cardio. it was WAY under!! you need a HRM for exercise.

Fitbit will not track work outs it only tracks walking and running ect and how active you are if you are doing your day to day say cleaning like dishes cooking ect you would not log but if say you went and scraped wallpaper, Mopped stuff like that that you still get a heack of work out but not really walking or running you need to log and only log on MFP not both I went up to the Help button at top on MFP and there is a spot just about Fitbit I found it most helpful enjoy I wont be without mine it keeps you moving I view it as almost a addiction
