help!

I'm new to all of this keeping track of the carbs, protien, sugar, sodium. I can't get my numbers right, I run lower on calories which I guess can't be to bad, but my problem is keeping my sugar where it belongs always over the mark, and everything else seems to be under the mark. What's the secret to getting it to all line up?

I'd say if you're just starting just work on getting the calories right. If your sugar is from fresh fruit don't worry about it, unless you're eating a bushel a day or something. Sodium is more of an issue if you have a medical condition, but be aware it can cause water weight gain. Having too much protein is never a bad thing, as MFP tends to be on the low side.

As you go along you'll become more aware of what you eat and it will become easier to try and get your numbers inline.

Agreed with the person above. Start with keeping track of your calories first. I don't worry as much about the other stuff.

Focus on consistently meeting your calorie goal, once you have that down begin to worry about hitting the macros.

If you aren't sure what ratio you should be at to meet your overall fitness and health goals, chat with a nutritionist or dietitian. You will get many options from others on here, but most of us aren't educated enough to properly inform you.

I agree with getting the calories right first. Since you are new, look at motivation and support and find some members with similar interests or goals. You might want to make some friends and view the open diaries of people who have similar goals. If your sugar is over, are you drinking sodas that are loaded with sugar? If you are eating sugary foods, you might want to consider moderation.
