Hibachi

We are going to a Hibachi restaurant on Friday. Their website doesn't have calorie counts for their food, but I'm thinking it isn't all that bad is it? I mean it's chicken, veggies, and rice. I know the sodium content is probably up there, but calorie wise how high do you think it is? And if you think it's high, any suggestions to lower it?

their rice is cooked in a TON of butter, but just ask for anyone's veggies they don't want, swap fried for steamed rice and get a lean protein like chicken/shrimp/scallops and you'll be great!
if you google hibachi grill calories some websites give estimates of the individual dishes.0 -
I went to Benihana on my birthday last week and for the soup, salad, fried rice, veggies and steak meal it totaled up to be 730 calories. I would have stayed under calories for the day if I hadn't of had the second piece of birthday cake.....0

A lot of times they cook the veggies in butter as well, so you can ask them not to. In my opinion, find the equivalent through mfp, then build the rest of your day around that meal. If you have to cheat a couple/few hundred calories, so be it. You should enjoy every once in a while. Do a workout in the morning.0
