I make myself wait and do it weekly on Fridays, this keeps me motivated. Start wanting to weigh myself by Tuesday and not doing it helps me eat right until Friday so I can see a loss. Only 1lb or a little less each week, but in the right direction

I think how often you weigh in is completely a personal preference. I weigh myself once in the morning and once in the evening. I just like to see the fluctuation. I also wont put in my weight unless it has stayed the same for at least 2 days. I have some friends on here that only weigh in once a week, or twice a week. Heck some people even go as far as to only weigh themselves once a month. It depends on what you're comfortable with.

If you still can't decide, then going with once a week is a good bet.
  • I keep weighing myself all the time, I can't stay away from the scales either and then I get really annoyed when I haven't lost anything:L

I have been weighing every 10 days. not sure why that number. I have just re-starting monitoring my weight again and it feels right. For me, I'm afraid of falling into the weight 'trap' of putting too much pressure on the 'number'.
  • I heard once a week is good.. I'm trying to get into that. I struggle with the "weigh-in everyday" thing. :(

I think it depends on what suits you. I prefer to weigh daily, and then I EXPECT to not have lost, or to see a gain now and then due to normal fluctuations. Then instead of looking at two weights, I look at the chart for the month, or the past 3 months. I'm a slow loser and I often wouldn't see any progress if I weighed once a week, whereas weighing daily I don't get disappointed because I know it's too short a time to see any progress! But I know this doesn't suit most people.

    this!

I weigh myself everyday but log the weight once a week. Going to try to stop weighing myself everyday as it puts me off when I way a little more one day

I weigh in EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have a separate app on my phone to log my weight daily it also tracks my BMI. I can export to excel and play with it more. .. I do this so that I can get a good reading of how my body changes before TOM after TOM and what foods do what to my body.

My official weigh in days here are on Fridays.

This has kept me going.. I know that not everyday I will see a loss and some I will see a gain.. This has worked for me so far and I am going to stick with it..

I get to see the next morning what a McDonalds meal or Wendy's meal does to me so I don't slack the rest of the week thinking oh well its just one meal that turns into eating out 5 or 6 times.

Try different methods out.. Weekly, daily, Monthly, Bi-Weekly until you find something that works for you.

I also take lots of pics at 5lb and 10 lbs loss marks.. Then put up side by sides... I like to see my body shrinking.. Sometimes looking in the mirror I don't see that even though I have lost 40+ lb.s

    Once a month or less.
For me personally, weighing in more than that is counter-productive. I go more by measurements (also taken monthly), how I feel, how my clothing fits, and most importantly progress photos!

I agree with laceybrobie on weighing 3-4 times a week. It has worked for me. I am too a slow loser, and need constant reminder of how much I weigh; that makes me have more self-control during the day.

I used to weigh several times a day in the beginning. I knew our bodies naturally fluctuate and I wanted to see how mine did so I could stop obsessing over 1-2 pounds either direction. I discovered I fluctuate up to 6 pounds a day!

So, over time I went from many times a day to once a day to once a week and now to once a month. I have to admit I have my hubby hide the scale because sometimes I just cannot help myself! I also measure once a month.

I weigh daily, but I can handle the day-to-day fluctuations and look at the overall trend.

I'm OCD, and since I got an accurate scale it's been very hard for me to resist the urge to hop on the scale every day. It would be very interesting to me to watch the fluctuations, but I also know that I would be disheartened by the higher numbers (even knowing that they're normal). Instead I try to channel my obsessiveness on the certain day I'm going to log the weight.

Those who want to lose 2.5 Lbs to look better in swimsuits on a beach will tell you that weighing once per week is just fine. Their priorities are different from those who want to lose weight for a health reasons.

Weigh-in every day. Weigh-in twice per day. Weigh in as often as you need till you know how your weight fluctuates based on your diet and exercise.

I heard you should only weigh yourself once a week because weight fluctuates, but I weigh myself twice a week as am addicted to the scale. I do it every Monday and every Friday....because weekends tend to be hard on my diet....
