b-12 supplement

so about a month ago i found out that i've become very iron-deficient anemic and vitamin d deficient as well. i've been put on a round of prescribed supplements for these issues that i've been taking (although the heartburn and other side effects of the iron are almost making me more miserable than i was before) and the overall lethargy and weakness that I had been feeling due to my low iron have definitely improved. the doctor did recommend that I cut caffeine out of my diet, however, in favor of not slowing iron absorption as well as helping with the heartburn a bit. My body has been freaking out without it's usual dosage of caffeine however (i typically drink 3-4 cups to get me through the day) and i have been dedicating a lot of time to school and work and am seriously just drained of energy (definitely not the same feeling that i had before with the lack of iron so i dont think thats the root cause here). my only thought in order to try and put some pep back in my step and counteract some of this exhaustion was to start taking b12 supplements as well. my question is for anyone who has taken them, how effective were they for you and how quickly did they seem to take effect? I mainly just want to make sure that it's worth it for me to go out and spend the money on them and that I might actually benefit from them.
