Thinking about starting 30 day shred

Ok, so as the title says, I am seriously thinking about starting the 30 day shred. However, I am overweight. I know its probally a silly question but is it bad to do it if you are too overweight? I am 5'10 and fluctuating beetween 275 and 277 right now. I also am having surgery on monday, so maybe this is something I should "weight" (haha bad joke...i know), on doing until after I recover from my surgery. Has anyone done the shred early in their journey?
