FAT BURN

I am a bit confused and could use some help. I heard if i burn fat in my "fat burn" stage that it is better to lose weight than in "Fitness burn". my HR is 130 or under for fat burn. and over that it goes to Fitness. (on my polar ft7)I feel like when i'm on the treadmill or walking outside I have to go slow in order to stay under the 130 mark so i am at fat burn. Does this sound right? i want to lose a few more pounds and tone my body, so i thought i should be burning fat. but walking at a slow pace and burning 170 calories in a 1/2 hour is better than jogging for 1/2 hour burning 400 calories?

No, you can ignore that unless you have some health issues that make you need to exercise slowly. Which is better, to burn 70% fat of 170 calories or 50% fat from 400 calories?

While you "utilize" more fat for energy at lower intensity, the overall calorie burn is less. It's not enough to offset it unless your doing LONG LONG bouts of low intensity exercise. Don't worry about the fitness/fat burn modes. Just bust your *kitten*!! The more calories you burn the fitter you can get.
BTW, you burn more fat calories laying around the house and sleeping than you do working out for 2 hours a day. Your BMR calorie usage comes largely from the fat energy in the body.
