My daughter showed me this video. The girl doesn't know the difference between a cherry and a hot pepper! It's pretty funny, so I thought I would share.

That is a Habanero pepper, they are 10 times hotter than a Jalapeno pepper. And the Coke would have made it much worse.

Habs are candy compared to a naga jalokia (ghost pepper). Give one of those babies a try....let us know how it goes.

I didn't understand why that was, because I thought sugar was supposed to help take away the heat. Is it the carbonation that does it?

the heat in peppers comes from an oil called capsacin. water doesn't mix with oil....it just moves it around (where it finds fresh taste buds to coat....making it feel even hotter. So, water, cola, and beer don't really help extinguich the heat. Milk has acidic properties that help to break down the oil and thus extinguish the fire.

I noticed that, too. When my daughter showed me from her phone, I couldn't see the name of the video. I just searched "thinks pepper is a cherry" to find it.

I totally missed the fart when I was watching from Sarah's phone! Haha! You have to watch it again with sound.
