In a research, it shows that if one can able to eat regularly with small quantity of food then it is considered as easiest way to lose weight. A solution for weight loss is it takes the current 3 meals, make them as half. And now it becomes 6 meals. Keep the 3 meals in the refrigerator and after three or four hours eat another half of the food that was already placed inside the refrigerator. This found to be a good weight loss solution when it comes to eating less and not feeling hungry.
Eating regularly is an added advantage in order to keep the metabolism up throughout the day and it boosts the energy to do our work. Weight loss solution will ask you to eat one or two times not for whole day then it becomes a bit worthless. It is better to treat every weight loss solution to your own needs.

Studies that indicate there is no benefit or effect of a particular meal frequency as it relates to metabolism change, weight loss, or energy level.
Here are some (I can provide more):
Influence of the feeding frequency on nutrient utilization in man: consequences for energy metabolism: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1905998
In the short term, meal frequency and a period of fasting have no major impact on energy intake or expenditure but energy expenditure is delayed with a lower meal frequency compared with a higher meal frequency: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11319656
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985
This study shows there was no difference in weight loss between subjects with high/low meal frequencies.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9155494
Evidence supports that meal frequency has nothing to do with energy in the subjects.

Yet again, no difference in energy in the subjects compared to 2 meals/d to 6 meals/d.
