I work with some of the most vicious, cold-hearted individuals you can imagine...7th and 8th graders. They are not know for giving out compliments to their teachers. Today in 7th grade science, we were discussing producers and I was telling them that even processed foods like candy needs producers because they use high fructose corn syrup and sugar. This sparked a conversation about candy and one of the kids asked me what my favorite was. I told them I was trying to avoid them since I'm trying to lose a few pounds. One of my 7th grade boys said "girl, you're a rail!". I thought it was very funny, but also a very nice comment!

That may well be the nicest compliment you could hope to receive from a 7th grader lol. I'd definitely be happy to hear that from my super "sweet" 6th grade daughter.
