Anyone got one?

Does it only work with the chest band?

Yes just got one. It is the highest reviewed HRMs in 2013. It lacks some minor bells and whistles (GPS etc) but is absolutely fabulous piece of equipment. It is dead on accurate and I can wear it for all types of exercise including resistence training as well as walking, running, elliptical etc. It works only with the chest band which is very comfortable. Other than perhaps the Omron offering, most non chest band units are not completely stable in reporting accurately. Don't forget that most wrist or arm only units do not provide continuous monitoring. I got mine from Drugstore dot com for $79 + tax. Best money I spent recently.

I have this HRM for over a year. It works great for my purposes. My only compliant is that it only has 1 training file. I never have cross talk issues with the watch and it connects with all the gym equipment. I have used it for running, walking, plyometric cardio and swimming.

If you are looking for a basic HRM with OwnCal this is a good option. If you are looking for bells and whistles then you may want to go with a higher model.

Thanks Jeff, don't mind that it only works with the strap but would have liked to have the option of it working without it so I can test myself in my job which is quite physically demanding, will try and use the strap at work tomorrow and see how it feels.

I have a wrist watch strapless one and yeah it does feel like guess work most of the time which is why I bought the RS100.

I have a Polar ... love it. I like the chest band for a more accurate HR - and its comfortable. I used to never wear a watch when working out b/c they bother me ...however, now I love having the watch as well so I can see my numbers while working out. My chest band is mostly elastic for the body part with little plastic to attach the HRM.

RS100 is not meant for all day use, it is for high impact workouts. The calculations to calculate total burn in day to day activities is different. You want FA20 for that http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/improve_fitness/fitness_crosstraining/FA20

Thanks, the everyday use is not really that important, using it for Insanity or the 30 Day Shred is really, I can use my cheap wrist watch model for that and estimate the day stuff but the intense workouts I really need to know more accurately.

Gonna use it tonight when I do the Shred.

Used this last night and I have to say it's very impressive, could see the heart beat rise as I became more active and vice versa.

Did the 30 Day Shred level 2 and it register 272 calories burned where before on my crappy wrist watch HRM (without strap) it would say around 140 (after taking the reading once the warm up was complete)

This feels completely acurate now because you can see the calories as you work out.

    Money well spent.
