    I heard the cold water shower thing helps tone your skin. Is that true?

    There are two tricks for boosting metabolism that actually work. They are as follows:

    - Move more. No Really......get up and move.
    - Put on more muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn.

    I like to eat sugar and carbs with protein so that my metabolism has to work fast to break down the sugars and longer to break down the protein so it's working faster and harder than it normally would if I didn't eat them together.

    It depends where you are at and your individual goals, but here are a few tricks:

    1. Regulate daily intake first. Most people starve themselves, work out for two hours and lose 7 pounds. Mostly due to dehydration. Establish a daily eating schedule, breaking up your meals into 4-6 smaller meals. Avoid eating after 7 pm. Drink at least 10 - 12 cups of water daily, ensuring that you are properly hydrated and weight loss is actually fat loss.
    2. Gradually increase cardio until you are working out, everyday consistently.
    3. Add strength training to increase body density. For me, I lift weights once a week, but utilize cross fit training (push ups, burpees, pull ups).
    4. In addition to cardio, walk everwhere, use the stairs, and look for the parking space furthest away.
    5. Never, never starve yourself. Listen to your body, if you need more calories eat fruit or veggies. This is another reason for limited workouts until you establish a consistent diet.
  • These things work very well for me;

    Coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
    Only eat meals when your stomach is actually growling, snack in between every couple of hours.
    Long hikes, walks with my dogs, or shopping (easy way to burn calories!).

    I also make a faux "Shamrock" shake (like the incredibly naughty ones at Mcdonalds, but only 300 calories and full of nutrition).
    If anyone wants the recipe, lemme know! I use just a teaspoon of peppermint oil, spirulina, avacados, kale, and spinach. I add whatever dairy alternative milk I have on hand, and either frozen banana or blueberries. I usually toss in some protein powder for good measure, too. 0% FAGE on top instead of whipped cream.

    I thought a Shamrock shake was Guinness, Jameson and chocolate ice cream.

    I don't follow. Are you sure? Sounds complicated.
