Cardio for muscle gain??

From what I understand, and in my experience running is a great way to build stronger legs and a flatter tummy. I've been working out for nearly two years but my killer legs didn't pop into the picture until last year after I started running. Two months in my legs became sexy little man controlling weapons with calves to die for.
I am a forefoot runner. It's more difficult than running with a mid-foot stride. I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes if any.

You can build more leg muscle and strength in two months of squatting than you can in a year of cycling.
Each to their own.
Why settle for one or other when you can have both?0 -

That's a great idea. She could lift weights to gain muscle and then go hiking/caving/cycling/backcountry skiing/skydiving/urban exploring/kayaking/hang gliding/jetskiing/anything else she actually enjoys on her free time, instead of trying to cram both goals into one activity that won't help her meet those goals.0 -
