Motivational Comment

Hello. I know that we all need motivation at times to get where we need to go. I am 57 and had developed extra around the core area. I figured, at my age, that is part of life and there is nothing I can do about it. I have a desk job, which does not help.
I logged onto this site after about a year of being off. I had gained another 6.5 lbs. from my last starting point.
Now for the motivational part. I am counting calories via this site adn the mobile app that allows us to scan foods. In six weeks, I have lost 17.5 lbs, feel and look better. I dumped the excuses (and there are many), and started riding the stationary bike. A doctor advised me to change my hill climbing program to a steady, longer ride. He said the hill climbing will burn sugars, but the steady ride will burn fat. It is working. I am also lifiting weights.
So, three times per week, I work out. The muscles are coming back, the six pack is starting to show, and I feel great. I am eating the same foods in general, but in smaller portions. The first three weeks were tough, but it has become the norm. If I can do this with all my excuses, so can you. Get charged up, commit, and stick with the program. 30 days of doing something forms a habit.

Great thinking. We can all do this, we can make things fit the way we need to and make it work.0

I use my Wii Balance board and Wii fit plus to weight myself (the games itself is pretty useless to get a good cardio workout) and set my goal to lose 1 lb per 2 weeks (So .5/week). It's so much easier than setting my long term goal. Inch by inch rather than mile by mile0
