What to do on an off day?

I have started working with a 15lbs kettlebell. I did 25 minutes Tues and yesterday. By yesterday afternoon, my whole body was sore and I was so tired, I went to bed at 8pm. Well, I figure I need to take a day off today and let my muscles repair. But it doesn't feel right to not exercise at all. Should I do my elliptical or just rest and get back at it tomorrow?
