I have x-box dance central which is really fun. Zumba workouts also fun. treadmill, eliptical and total gym. Everything a person could need...why does it collect dust? I have so much other things that seem to take priority that there is no time. I know they say...you have to make time, but cooking dinner for the family and sitting down and doing homework til I go to bed seems to be the routine. Any motivation tips?

Sounds like your schedule is pretty tight. Check out this article and see if you can incorporate it into your schedule.

"How To Do A 10 Minute Workout"

In my experience, self-motivation kicks in pretty strong once someone has incorporated good nutrition and regular exercise into their lives. So take some measurements and some pictures now. Then do this 3x week for six weeks and then take measurements and take a couple more pictures and see if you can tell a difference. If you can (and I think you will), then the motivation should kick in.

    Good luck!

So at no point during the day do you sit and watch television? Read a book or magazine? Sit and stare out the window? Does your alarm clock not have the ability to be set 30 mins earlier? Does your bedroom door look at 10pm and you'll have to sleep in the bathtub if you're not already inside?

    ^^ this.

Find your motivation and use it. No matter who says what, in the end, it is up to you to find the time and motivation to succeed.

break the routine. wake up earlier. make time.

i used to find every excuse in the book. it's too early, i need to eat something, i need to let myself digest before i work out, it's too hot out, the gym will be too crowded, now i'm hungry for lunch, i've got homework to do, i want to watch this show, i'm playing video games, i have homework to do, now i want a snack, now i have to cook dinner, now it's too late.

now i decided to make exercise a regular part of my life. not every day, but every possible day. generally, i "find" that time in the morning. i wake up at about 430am and i'm out the door to the gym within an hour. i have my coffee pot set automatically, and my clothes laid out. as i sit and drink coffee and wake up, i get dressed.
