Today's headline is "8th grade boy kills himself at school." WHY?!?! And how the **** does an 8th grader get their hands on a gun?!?! Parents it is your JOB to PROTECT your children, even if it is from themselves!!! LOCK UP YOUR GUNS! If you can't afford a safe BUY A TRIGGER LOCK!!! It is no longer acceptable to say "I told my kid not to touch my guns." Make sure the kids Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Whoever in their life is keeping them as safe as you are! If someone refuses to put away their guns safely, don't let your child go over there! This is no longer about the 2nd Amendment! It's about keeping children safe! If you aren't concerned about children's safety, DON'T HAVE THEM!!!

Keep your guns, I don't care, it's your right by being born American. But for the love of God LOCK THEM UP and KEEP THEM OUT OF THE HANDS OF CHILDREN!!!

I've hug my dog this morning... (no kids)

lol no serioulsy, the brain and mind is a complex system, reactions to certain events can be mind blowing (huh sorry phrase too well placed here).

And trust me, a kid or adult that wants to end is life, nothing will stop them. No need for guns. Otherwise, there's the black market.

Still I agree that the mentally in certain countries are past due on evolving and seeing thing a different way. Too many countries literally love their guns and it's sad.

I realize if someone wants to kill them self they are going to find a way to do it. What i find disgusting is sometimes it's just made WAY to easy for them to do it at such a young age.

Need a link to the story. Google turns up nothing from 2013.

Not much there to comment on when it comes to "parents lock up your guns", as it does not state where the gun was obtained.

Hug your children (or anyone you love) and tell them you love them. You never know when life will take them...or you.

    Peace.

I think my assumption is safe, and if you read the whole rant I was talking about the ENTIRE family locking up the guns, not just the parents.

A few examples my assumptions is based on:
1997 -Pearl Missippi - Luke Woodham - Parent bought him a hunting rifle
    1998 - Jonesboro Arkansas - Johnson/Golden - Guns stolen from Grandfather
1998 - Springfield Oregon - Kip Kinkel - Stolen from a friends parent
    2001 - Santee California - Williams - Fathers gun
    2012 - Conn. - Lanza - Stolen from mother

There are many many more examples. Yes there are examples where they were purchased illegally such as Columbine. BUT the majority are stolen from family members. So perhaps I should have said family members lock up your guns instead of just singling out the parent.

    Okie-Dokie.

Kids that messed up are going to figure out a way.

FWIW Lanza is a bad example. They weren't exactly "stolen", and dude was 20.
