Losing Weight While Not Exercising

I find most of my weight is loss during the extended time I am not working out. For example, if I go 3 or 4 days without working out, then I see pounds loss--and it STAYS that way! Whenever I work out, my weight is either the same or I gain weight. Whether it's water weight or muscle weight or whatever weight, I never see my pounds loss until I don't work out. What's the dealio?
