I really want to get a hula hoop as everyone says they're great for defining a waist.
which would be better like a heavy smooth one or one with bumps?

my mum has a bumpy one and it hurts a little but its bareable so im not worried about the pain.

these were the few that i was looking at

I'm not too keen on the bumpy one. It looks like it could hurt when it went around your waist. I'd go for the smooth.

I have one that I bought at walmart. It's not that heavy -- 2 or 3 lbs at the most? -- and I don't use it as often as I would like (I can't use it in the house because my dog goes APE when I do and tries to eat it). When the weather gets nice and I can go outside again I think I'll pick it up and try to use it more religiously. So as for whether or not it actually works I have no answer.
