Yes, I am a girl and I play hockey. It is an awesome, fun and addicting sport. I wish I could play now, but there are no leagues near where I am living. I would love to hear about anybody else's hockey experiences, though!

I play hockey, work at a hockey rink, do maintenance on hockey skates.....I love hockey
  • Really? Awesome. What position? How often do you play? I was mostly D, because my son is a goalie so I just understood it more. I miss it so much, can't wait to skate again after I lose some weight!

I've been known to do some hip checking into the board once a week. Defense is fun dirty work!

I used to play almost every day. Mostly street leagues. Of course, that was before I became the fat @ss I am now!

If I can keep losing weight, I want to try playing again this summer.

I was a competitive figure skater growing up (just local, nothing major). But, I played ice hockey in college! It was a blast.

Ahh, you're so lucky. I miss it so much. When I left CO I was playing 3 x / week. I even had my daughter playing - she has little mini breezers and a pink stick!
  • Lazyguy, You've lost a ton! I bet you could play now and be just fine. I've never been great at street hockey. I can rollerblade , but never got great at fast turns on blades.

    I am so jealous.

It is a blast. I played with a lot of girls that started in college when women's hockey was just starting out... it was really interesting to hear their stories. You are really tiny for a hockey player, I bet you were fast!
