What do you log ZUMBA! as?

Just wondering...what does everyone log zumba as? I have been putting it as, "Dancing, general" but zumba is a heck of a lot more moving plus some plyometrics. Any ideas?

I'd log it as dancing... the zumba I've done isn't anything close to high impact aerobics. It's better to round down than round up calories in my opinion...

There is an option for aerobic dancing.

Besides, I figure if most f my dancing isn't as least as vigorous as Zumba, I am doing it wrong. The only exceptions are for slower music.

It is hard because like you said it varies so much. I have an armband and some others in my classes have watches that track heart rate. I hear figures anywhere from 400-1000 depending on how much effort is put in. I would guess if you are doing minimal jumping around 400-600 calories per hour. Moderate jumping 600-800 range. If you are bouncing all over like some of the girls that hit 900s or doing splits in air and touching toes 6 feet off ground like my instructor, he burns about 1000.

People have been using this http://caloriesburnedhq.com/zumba-calories-burned/ calculator as a great tool. Then I added zumba as an exercise and put down how many calories I burned for how long, and now it keeps that formula and I just keep using that one in my exercise diary. People who have heart rate monitors say its pretty spot on for them - so I trust it.

I log it as dancing but I use my HRM for the calories and just. MFP always underestimates the calories burned for me for ZUMBA!
