Hi all,
I stumbled across this forum today. I found some of the posts to be quite interesting; so I decided to register.
I started running in the end of July of 2011. My height is about 5'11. At that time, I weighed about 225 pounds. On the first day I ran on the faithful day in July, my goal was to run 1 minute but I had to stop after running for only 7 seconds. But I kept on running. I have done a 5K, a 10K, two half marathons, and I will do my first full marathon in about 3 weeks. It took me about 13 months to get down to 168 pounds (recommended by my trainer at the gym). Since then, as far as the weight is concerned, it has been on maintenance stage. I now run anywhere between 40 to 50 miles a week.
As far as diet is concerned, I am actually eating more than I did then. At the same time though, the kinds of food that I am eating now are quite different from the ones that I used to eat. The foods are more balanced now whereas they were mainly fattening stuff back then. The portion also plays a role too. I used to eat one quart of ice-cream in one seating; but now, the same amount of ice-cream can last me for about one week.
I am joining this site in hope of reading posts from different people on topics of diet and exercises. Anybody can add me if they are interested.
Have a nice day/evening!
