Body Media/HRM Question

Hope someone has some insight in this. I have just started using the Body Media and it seems my calorie burns are quite a bit lower than my HRM was telling me they were. But I have heard that the Body Media is more accurate. My question is, is anyone using the Body Media with the approved linking HRM and does that give you a more accurate burn reading? I am really confused. Thanks you for any help, ideas or feedback in advance!

My calorie burns are lower compared to my polar HRM but I have noticed my overall calorie burn gets higher when I workout. On a regular day without working out I burn around 2300. Today when I did Insanity it said my burn was 268, my HRM has me at 400. But my calorie burn for the end of the day was 2900. Hope that helps!

I add my heart rate data to my BMF dashboard. It does not change BMF's numbers at all.

My impression is heart rate monitors are great for knowing your cardiovascular fitness for a particular activity, not necessarily for calorie burns. I used mine mostly when I was running regularly. Now I use it for doing things like Jillian Michael's 30-day shred. I can look over time and see how my heart rate is improving. I've found that sometimes as my heart rate improves, I burn more. When I'm not struggling I can really push it more. If that makes sense.
