Just how fast is a Marathon runner

They were discussing on the radio the other day about Robert Cheruiyot who won the 2010 Boston Marathon and they put it in good perspective on just how fast he was going. The adv. treadmill's fastest speed goes about 12 mph. You would have to make the treadmill go one mph. faster and then run at that speed for 2:05 to do what he did. Wow!

    I know! It is crazy, he was basically running just over a 4 1/2 minute mile pace the entire way!! He ran it a half an hour faster than I ran my half marathon!

    Holy cow!! That's insanely fast - don't think I could even keep that up for 5 mins, let alone 2 hours!!!

    Lol, that's what I said too, I wouldn't of been able to run 1 mile that fast!
