How to track exercise

I am a member at the YMCA, and I like to participate in their exercise cardio classes, as well as use the treadmill and ellipticals. I can track calories burned on a machine, but its hard for me to track calories burned when I do a class there, or even when I do Jillian Michael's DVDs. Anyone know how I can get an idea or a close estimate of the calories burned? Thanks a lot....

You'll need to buy a heart rate monitor for a guesstimate of calories burned.0

What she said. The machines aren't very accurate. They are guestimating based on your weight (assuming they even ask for it) and not counting your age, your heart rate, your fitness level, etc.
I use the MFP database when I don't wear my HRM and then I generally round down -- because I find their estimates too high compared to my reality. :laugh:0
