Crutches Advice

I'm stuck on crutches for the next few weeks after tearing calf muscles in both legs, and I think I'm doing okay on them so far, but I'm developing massive bruises on the palms of my hands.

Does anyone have any advice on how to minimise these bruises or do I just have to live with them?

On the plus side, my triceps and shoulders are getting an epic workout just hobbling around work all day!

Sorry to hear about the injury. Both calves?!?! Brutal.

For your hands, you may want to wear thick, padded gloves (the thick winter gloves like what kids wear). The other thing you're probably going to get is bruises on the side of your torso (just underneath your armpits). Extra cloth wrapped around the top part of the crutch should help with that.

    Speedy recovery to you.

Thanks! I'm going to pop out at lunchtime to see what I can find nearby.

Thankfully, they're elbow crutches so no bruised armpits, but I am getting little ones on the backs of my forearms (which don't bother me too much).
