Motivation during long plateaus

I'm finding it very hard to remain motivated right now. I've been on a plateau for 3 months now. I'm not ready to give up or anything, I just am not terribly motivated to log calories and exercise when it seems not to be producing results. Up until January I was very successful, 49 pounds in 6 months, but now nothing in 3 months! I've tried changing up my exercise routine, increasing my exercise routine until I began feeling too much wear on my old knees, and cutting back calories for a few days at a time to try to jump start my metabolism. Nothing has worked. I know I'm in this for the long haul, but I still need to lose 50 more pounds and I'm just not feeling like it matters one way or another if I log my days or not. The results seem the same to me. So, any ideas how I might inspire myself to keep on the program? Anyone have good suggestions for getting your metabolism jump started after a long plateau?

A friend of mine is eating 200 cal. 6 times a day and it is working well for her. She also walks on the treadmill for 1 hour 3 days a week. She was told it would increase her metabolism. You could give it a try for 1 week. I hope this helps you.

Try alternating your calorie goals. Eat a little over one day and a little under the next. If your settings are at say 1500, try eating 1200 one day and 1800 the next. I've heard that this can help "shock" the metabolism alittle. Also maybe you could increase your cardio a bit. Great job so far and good luck to you!
