I have no thyroid, meaning I have to take medication daily. I was not losing any weight on 1200 calories, so upped my calories to 1500 and 11 pounds since second week of February. I was always hungry by the end of the day on 1200.

Try upping your calories. I have hypothyroidism since I was about 12 or 13 years old. I eat somewhere between 1500-1650 calories a day with 1 splurge day of 1900-2000 calories in a week.

Are you exercising? What are you goals for weight loss?

If you really are super short as your user name suggests, if you up your calories to 1500, make sure you are exercising. I'm 31 and not quite 5'0" and 1500 is pretty near my maintenance net intake.
  • I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune underactive thyroid). Eat more calories and exercise. Stay low-glycemic too. Too many sugars, starches, and overall carbs can thwart success. Also make sure you're taking the correct dosage of Synthroid, Levoxyl, etc.
Work with your endocrinologist closely. It really helps.
And hang in there. Having an underactive thyroid can be the pits, but losing weight is not impossible.
