Having trouble getting adequate calories

I honestly don't eat many calories in a day if they aren't junk food. After cutting out junk food, I have too few calories, and if I try to add anything my sodium's rather overboard (especially on work days - we can't bring food to work.)

I need some foods that are low in sugar and sodium, but are okay on the calories and cheap enough to afford on my $100 a week paycheck. (Yes, I still have bills to pay on this paycheck. Being poor sucks.)

Eggs, nuts, full fat dairy, oils, avocado, meat, peanut butter.

Your food diary is not public, but I second all the suggestions in the second post. Basically anything that's naturally got lots of fat and protein. Use dressings with good fat for your veg and starches (a tablespoon of olive oil is 119 calories). Eat meat: a chicken leg quarter with skin is 400 calories.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll have to start stocking up on more hearty nuts and nut butters. I'm not a big fan of eggs - only the fake kind or putting them in soup. Bullion has a ton of sodium as well, so that's probably something I'd have to limit and monitor. Thank you for the list though - I'll keep it on me.

I just made my diary public. I'm rather guilty of eating mostly convenience foods and a lot of sugar. I'm not sure why sugars from fruit would count against me, however - they're natural. I saw a long argument about it and I'm thinking of taking sugar off altogether since I'm only going to eat small treats every once in a while when they're on sale (the sherbet was 98 cents.) Anyways, I think taking off the sugar intake would really help my diet. Apples aren't going to kill me - they're much better than the potato chips and chocolate bars I was eating before.
