I started off weight training ~4 years ago and I was 150 lbs. My first bench press I started off at 75 lbs and that was pretty hard for me. I platued for the last year, year and half and have been benching ~185 (sets of 8-10) and was content with doing that until the last 4-6 weeks. I kept reading these boards and reading about starting strength and 5x5 and decided to try doing 3x5's and upping my bench. Well, earlier today I hit a goal I have always wanted to hit and benched 225 x 5 for 3 sets. It was a big accomplishment for me and I am proud of where I have come. I am sitting at 178 lbs now (have been cutting weight since I joined this sight and was at 187)- so still some work there, but it felt real good.
