Birth Control + Cycle + Weight loss - Help!!

Hey there guys! I've been on birth control for a long time... probably 4 years. Recently My boyfriend and I have talked about going off the pill - and using alternate methods for more reasons then one...

Here I want to discuss one reason... or one factor of this decision.

I have been loosing weight since the summer - the first 20-30lbs came off easily... now recently I've been finding that I am stuck at a fluctuating weight all month - until my "time of the month" suddenly near the end of the dreaded week I drop like 4-5 lbs. then as the month progresses again I seem to gain some back.

I am wondering if it may have something to do with my birth control that I've been taking. I am on tricyclen-lo or whatever its called lol (its the lower dose of estrogen) I am wondering if the birth control may be preventing me from loosing because of the hormones - maybe water retention? Maybe the fact that its tricking my body into thinking its pregnant I dont know lol....

I work out 3-4 times a week doing a mixture of cardio classes/machines/ weight training/ and i have started running outside on those nicer days. I also eat properly

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any advice? - we have decided to go off of it for other reasons so maybe I will see how it all pans out... just curious as to what u folks have to say

You're on a low dose...it's more of the high dose ones where you need to worry about weight gain or issues losing. I think you just hit a plateau. Change your workouts up. The body gets used to workouts.
