If you open up your diary and let us see what you are eating we may be able to give you suggestions. You may not need foods to give you energy you may need to change the ones you are eating that are zapping your energy!

Most of us don't get enough potassium, which can lead to fatigue. Try upping your potassium intake and see how you feel. Unfortunately, you can't use supplements thanks to the FDA limiting them to 99mg (RDA is 4700mg!), but high-potassium foods include sweet potatoes, white potatoes, beet greens, dates, and white beans. Google it for a more complete list.

    They contain calories.

if you're tired you're either 1) not eating enough or 2) not sleeping enough

    or you've got mono.

Can't help you here. Food makes me sleepy. That's why I eat it all around bedtime. Use all the calories for energy between "meals", with no need to snack as a crutch to keep me going.

But yeah, all food should give you energy. Unless you're living off calorie free beverages and condiments.

Yes, all foods have calories - good job guys! ;)

OP, there are definitely some foods that give me more energy than others. Examples: apples, hardboiled eggs, tuna.

Maybe you're eating the wrong thing. I find too many starches make me feel draggy, for example.

Also, make sure you're drinking enough water. I often forget to drink water until my head starts to hurt and I feel like I'm falling asleep. Hydration!!

negative calorie foods don't really...that's why they usually come with ranch to dip them in.

If you are looking for foods that dont leave you crashing and burning out at the end of the day, try eating foods higher in fat and avoid high glycemic ones.

Had this problem for years until I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last month. Have you been tested?

good fats though - avoid hydrogenated oils, trans fats, and fats really high in omega-6s like most vegetable oils.

olive oil, butter, animal fats, coconut oil, avocado, nuts, seeds - All good fats
