Thinking of ...at some point in the near future... getting certification in personal training with a strong focus on nutrition...
I know a lot of you out there are trainers... and nutrition experts. What governing body is considered the best?
Several years ago I got the stuff for ISSA but never took the exam... waste of $500. Still have it though I am sure it is a bit out dated...it's been a good 7 years ago.
NASM?
ACE?
ISSA?

I like that NASM has a CPT and a FNS (Fitness Nutrition Specialist)
Is it worth $1050?
I have a medical background so the anatomy isn't going to be too difficult.
What other avenues could I venture down?

I would go NASM...just a thought....plus its what I have...But I graduated with an exercise science degree so the test wasn't bad at all.

NCSA and NASM are both good. I think NCSA has a little more of a science focus. It really doesn't matter, though. Your clients won't care, and all it shows is that you know the minimum required in your field. Go with the cheaper one, and buy a good book on nutrition.

Late reply... I don't get on the boards much. But thanks for the info.
Think I am going to actually go with ACE.. health coach=$500 instead of $1000+ to get a start and then next year will apply to PTA to meld those two together.
