What disappointing news. I am sorry I don't have any answers for you but I wanted to bump your post so maybe others would see it again and be able to offer some advice! I suffer from OA and the best thing I can do is stay moving..... my best wishes and Prayers for you!0

I heard exercising was one of the best things you could do. I would keep doing it if you can, and see what the specialist tells you. I am sorry to hear about this and hope you are able to overcome the pain.0

I am so sorry for your diagnosis. Now that you know what it is you can find ways to counteract it. Have you thought of seeing a naturopath to see if there are natural ways to help with the pain and effects of RA? I was never a fan of naturopath but I have watched a really close friend have life-altering help with horrible eczema, psoriasis and inability to sleep by changing his diet! Not only that but he has lost weight. His skin condition is manageable and he went from sleeping 1 to 2 hours a night to 7 hours a night. I think the key to a naturopath is looking for a reputable one. "Food" for thought. Take Care!0

I second finding a naturopath to talk to about the RA. What kind of exercise have you been doing? It's hard to make a blanket statement pro or con for exercise if we don't know what you do... ya know? I guess I would say to stay as "active" as you can... but be kind to your joints.... maybe use an eliptical machine or walk on a treadmill instead of walking on the pavement outside, avoid a lot of jumping and pounding on your joints. I'm betting that stretching would be a good thing for you to do - several times a day.
I don't know a lot about RA - but I have a mother who was diagnosed with Fibro and is in chronic pain... it's very hard. The only thing I can say is that if you don't stay active.... you will get to the point where you can hardly move.
Let us know what the doctor says about treatments....0 -
Do you take Glucosomine? My sister swears by it. I also was getting some arthritis pain and my doc diagnosed a Vitamin D deficiency. I take 2000 IU of that a day and have seen a lot of improvement in my joints. You might just have to do low impact exercising. Try swimming or short walks.0
