Stretch Marks Help?!

I have a TON of stretch marks on my stomach. And I mean a TON. They are very prominent (red/purple toned) and I hate it. I'm assuming they are because of puberty. I grew really quickly and my weight changed a lot growing up.

So my questions are:
1. If you have stretch marks, what have you/do you use that has worked for you? (I know that there isn't much that can be done to completely get rid of stretch marks)
2. If you have lost weight and have/had stretch marks, did they change at all? I'm wondering because I want to know that if I loose weight, will the stretch marks change? Will they lighten in color or get smaller?

Thanks for any help!

I used to have a lot of them too. When I dropped major weight the first time they went away...well, most of them. I see some of the skinniest people I know with stretch marks. Sometimes you just can't do anything about certain ones but just make them fade. Also, they make cocoa butter specifically for that. So maybe give that a try as well.
  • After having two babies, my stretch marks turned to a silvery-white after a few months. Mine didn't stay purple very long. I never used any products on them. Just let time do its thing.
  • I have stretch marks on my hips and calves, and all that has faded them is giving them time. You are around the same age as me, so I figure it'll apply to you, too. Some people say bio-oil or shea butter lightens them, but I doubt that has much to do with it. Wish I could offer a quick solution ('cause I'd love one too!).

I also got stretch markers when i reached puberty, only i got them on my thighs. They started out bright red and eventually faded to white. It has been 13 years now and they are still visible if you look closely, but they faded quite a lot and sometimes I forget they are even there. Just give it time and they will fade more.

No evidence here at all, but a couple of my employees have said that Mederma and/or Scar Away helped. Particularly if you are diligent about using it.

    Good luck
  • I've thought about using Cocoa Butter or Bio Oil but I don't want to invest in any products when the chances of them working are slim....

I have some white stretch marks on my stomach but the rest are all REALLY bright. I got them between 9-12 so it's been some years and they haven't faded :(

that's when I got mine on my hips and they didn't really fade until last year (around when I turned 19).
there's still a little redness in some places, but much less than what it used to be.

It depends more on the severity of the stretching. After 4 kids, including a set of twins, my stomach is a mess. I've learned to live with them. The purple faded soon enough and they are now white. Very visible, but I figure I earned them. They come from the skin( all layers) being stretched beyond the breaking point. They are no different than any scars. Some may fade away, some may stay.

    Bio oil.

I swear by this stuff. It is a little expensive, and can be a little repetative, but is so worth it.
I massaged bio oil onto the stomach, breasts and thighs.
After 6 months, They were almost completely gone.
Like everything else, you wont see automatic results, but you will see some fading after after the first month, and eventually they will fade into silver/greyish marks, almost invisible.
After they fade to this point, you can tan if you feel like it, or use tanning mosterizer to even skin tones

I had some pre-pregnancy, but after having my son and a horrible pregnancy induced rash, my stomach looked HORRIBLE. But after a year, they are not that bad anymore. Some are darker than others, but for the most part, they are pretty light. I honestly don't care though. I had a baby and have been fat for a while, stretch marks don't bother me. /shrug
